Primera Planta. Se encuentran varias salas: de la Chimenea, Escalera y Sala Noble. Cada una de estas salas tienen dimensiones diferentes y son diáfanas para poder cubrir las necesidades de cada una de las exposiciones.
Segunda Planta. Hay tres salas, la Buhardilla (de mayor dimensión) y la de la Cúpula y Escalera.

El palacio al ser un edificio declarado BIC presentaba restrinciones en su estructura arquitectónica lo cuál se ha tenido en cuenta a la hora de su modificación como Centro de Interpretación.
La superficie del Palacio permite la multiplicidad de espacios tanto de exposiciones permanentes como de exposiciones temporales. La zona expositiva es de casi 600 metros cuadrados.También permite albergar espacios acordes con los objetivos de la función museística como pueden ser la dirección, los almacenes, oficinas, … lo cuál supone una concentración de todas las actividades del mismo, repercutiendo en un mejor funcionamiento y servicio público.
La estructura del edificio, articulado mediante crujías, permite la división de espacios de uso público y privado, a través de elementos de circulación vertical independientes, lo que ofrece circulaciones separadas y controles de acceso a los diferentes ámbitos. La función principal de las salas de exposición permanente es la de albergar los bienes culturales y los recursos, teniendo con un carácter eminentemente didáctico.
El Centro de Interpretación de la Ciudad de Lucena tiene como principal finalidad dotar a la ciudad de un lugar que permita a los ciudadanos, visitantes y turistas conocer las características históricas, sociales y culturales de Lucena, así como sus recursos turísticos y patrimoniales siendo el Palacio el punto de inicio de la visita a la ciudad.
Para habilitar el Centro se han utilizado unos recursos y sistemas expositivos, interactivos y audiovisuales, que hacen que la visita sea amena e innovadora. Con los contenidos expuestos se pretende transmitir la importancia de la ciudad de Lucena en el sistema territorial andaluz, a la vez que destacar su propios rasgos e idosincrácia.
Uno de los principios básicos de este proyecto es el de la accesibilidad, no sólo como espacio arquitectónico sino como espacio cultural, entendiéndose como cultura un derecho de disfrute de la población en general.
